Mail Pouch Fly-By - 2011
30 Happy Michigan MSTA Riders Took Part in the Mail Pouch Fly-By Ride.
Between August 19-21, 30 MSTA riders were part of approximately 130 riders from several adjoining States in the annual MSTA Mail Pouch Fly-by event. We all had a great time riding 200 to 300 miles per day on the twisty roads in SE Ohio and West Virginia. Lots of story telling and good eating on the grounds of the event hotel.

19 Happy Michigan MSTA Riders Took Part in the MOB Ride.
Between August 19-21, 19 MSTA riders had a great time riding 200 to 300 miles per day on the twisty roads in SE Ohio. The group also experienced good eating while telling tails about the days ride.
Michigan Mountain Madness - 11
Thirty-three riders participated in Michigan Mountain Madness - 11 in the Smokies in May. This is considered the Michigan Squadron Hallmark Ride. A great time was has by all in riding the best roads found in Western NC, North GA, and Eastern TN for five glorious days.

"Rough Rider 1000"
On Saturday May 7, 2011 at approximately 3:00 a.m. fifteen Michigan MSTA riders had prepared their bikes, eaten the right food, and had a great mental attitude as they left for a 1000 plus mile ride in 24 hours. It was a great day with all riders finishing the 1000 mile ride. The event was recognized, not only by the Michigan MSTA chapter with certificates given, but also the Iron Butt Association.

SMOTY 2010 Awards Banquet
What a great awards banquet celebrating the 2010 MSTA riding season. Ninety people, the largest number to attend a Michigan MSTA event, enjoyed a festive evening. The 2010 SMOTY of the year award went to Don Pennington. Also a special Distinguished Service award was presented to Gregg Mitchell, the Michigan State Director. Other awards were handled out for various riding categories. Following were the highlights:

2010 Michigan MSTA Mileage Contest
To the moon and almost half way back? More than 13 times around the world? Or, said another way, 326,660 miles. That’s the cumulative mileage for the 29 riders who tracked their miles and sent them in. This was the first year to recognize the male and female who rode the most during 2010..Also added to the contest was to recognize the closest to the average male and female riders. Following are the winners:

Michigan Mountain Madness - 2011

Thirty-three riders participated in Michigan Mountain Madness - 11 in the Smokies in May. This is considered the Michigan Squadron Hallmark Ride. A great time was has by all in riding the best roads found in Western NC, North GA, and Eastern TN for five glorious days.

Eleven Riders Lined Up to Begin the Three Day MoArk Ride
Happy smiles ended the three day, almost 1,200 mile, three day event, held in on some of the best curvy/twisty roads in Arkansas and Missouri. Words of those riding in the event - Can't Wait Until Next Year.
Fall Color Ride. This was the second year Michigan members participated in this National MSTA sponsored fall event. Twelve Michigan MSTA members took part in this "no frills" event which was held at "The Inn At Snowshow" in West Virginia. Everyone enjoyed the routes which followed some of the best twisty and scenic roads in this part of the country.
Tip of the Mitt. A record 28 very happy members spent three days on a very unique ride heading north through rural Michigan to the community of Bellaire, in the northwestern part of the State. Accommodations where at the Bellaire Inn, a short distance to downtown Bellaire where we walked, after the days rides on Friday and Saturday evenings for great meals. The Saturday ride explored the hills and dales of this part of the state with the Legs Inn being the preferred lunch stop on Saturday. We rode home on Sunday through the scenic by-ways of rural Michigan. Next years event is already being planned with a couple of surprises.

Mail Pouch Fly-By. A record 44 Michigan riders returned to Marietta at the Holiday Inn for the Mail Pouch Fly-By. We joined a record attencdance for the event, which has been growing every year. Join We enjoyed the best sport touring roads Ohio and West Virginia had to offer. Everyone had a great time with catered meals for both Friday and Saturday nights. Several attendees went home with great door prizes.

Sparkler "4" A unique ride was enjoyed on West Virginia’s finest twisty roads in areas known for southern hospitality. After riding fantastic sport touring roads we relaxed and recalled events of the day, on the “Rocking Chair Front Porch” of the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson.
Blue Grass Boogie. (June 17 - 20, 2010) The ride was centered in Morehead, KY for three days of exploring great roads in Kentucky. A choice of six routes were offered to ride within this unique region of Kentucky.
Michigan Mountain Madness 12. This Michigan Squadron Hallmark Event was attended by more than 30 riders who rode some of the finest, twistiest roads found in Western NC, North GA., and Eastern TN for five glorious days.
